Le passé composé est un temps composé de plusieurs éléments : auxiliaire ÊTRE ou AVOIR + PARTICIPE PASSE du verbe.</strong /></strong />

Les verbes se divisent en trois grands groupes de conjugaison selon la finale qu'ils présentent à l'infinitif et au participe présent.</strong /></strong />

1er groupe = "er" sur le modèle de aimer.</strong /></strong />

2e groupe = "ir" sur le modèle de finir.</strong /></strong />

3e groupe = tous les autres verbes "oir", "re", le verbe "aller, et les "ir" sur le modèle de "sentir".</strong /></strong />

</strong />

Le 1er groupe compte 90% des verbes existant en français, la conjugaison de ce groupe est régulière (sans exceptions). La grande majorité des verbes nouveaux (radiographier, atomiser, etc.) sont créés sur le modèle de "aimer", premier groupe.</strong />

Le second groupe comprend quelque trois cents verbes qui sont de type régulier. Sur le modèle de "finir", participe présent en "-issant" et indicatif présent en "-is".</strong />

Le 3e groupe comprend en plus de "aller", une trentaine de verbes en "ir" sur le modèle de "sentir", dont le participe présent se termine en "-ant", une trentaine en "-oir" (recevoir), et une centaine en "-re". C'est le groupe des exceptions et des verbes irréguliers.</strong />
